In August 2016, the company was able to move into its new headquarters in Hamburg’s HafenCity. The building of our new homeport was designed and built according to the criteria of the “Sustainable Construction in HafenCity” certification procedure.
This eco-label is awarded to buildings that demonstrate outstanding ecological quality. Compliance with the criteria is monitored by external independent auditors. Beyond meeting these sustainability standards, the new building is impressive for various architectural highlights. It also offers a wide range of facilities and services for employees.
First impressions of the cutting-edge new company building can be viewed in the following picture gallery.
The building was designed and built in accordance with three criteria of the "Sustainable Construction in the HafenCity” certification process and achieved the Gold standard.

Two kitchenettes with meeting points are found on nearly every standard floor. They are decorated in the style of different countries – yet another architectural highlight of the new company headquarters.
The cog, a kind of ship, is a symbol of our long-standing company history. It is found not only in some company logos, but can also be viewed as an exhibit in the lobby.
The company headquarters also ensures a well-fed workforce. Our staff restaurant on the ground floor offers plenty of space and a large selection of foods and beverages.
At lunchtime, the staff can choose their daily changing, freshly cooked dishes made from local ingredients from three serving stations and a salad buffet. Almost all of the beverages are free.
During the warmer season, the outdoor terrace of the Waterkant can accommodate about 50 people.
The Tide bistro is located on the 2nd upper floor and offers refreshments, coffee specialties, snacks and beverage specials such as smoothies all day. One of the accesses to the city balcony is located in the bistro.

A combined heat and power plant in the HafenCity provides the building with heat. Cooling is generated by highly efficient chillers.
We buy green electricity from our subsidiary natGAS, a provider of services and energy solutions in the areas of gas and power.
Besides the location next to the water, vicinity to restaurants and museums, especially the Lohsepark offers our employees a lot of greenery and recreation possibilities in the immediate vicinity of the headquarters.
For environmental-conscious employees who cycle to work, there are 180 bicycle stands as well as ventilated lockers, and changing facilities.
The water supply in the kitchenettes and in the company restaurant changed from bottled water to semi-carbonated tap water.
Bins for the separation of plastic, paper and residual wastes are placed in central locations on the corridors. Waste bins for biodegradable wastes are located in the kitchenettes.
