Marquard & Bahls Withdraws from Carbon Trading
The sale of the carbon trading business is in line with Marquard & Bahls' overall strategy of concentrating more on the growth of its core activities in tank storage logistics, trading and aviation fuelling. The withdrawal from the carbon trading had previously been announced and prepared within the company.
In recent years, Carbonbay has developed a global portfolio of wind, hydro, biomass and solar power projects to help curb climate change. Among the projects, certified by the United Nations, are a wind power plant in Costa Rica and a biogas plant in Namakkal, India. The annual emission reduction of all currently operational projects in the portfolio amounts to around 430,000 tons of CO2.
Wolfgang Brückner has been working for Carbonbay since January 2015. After initially being Head of Business Development, he took over the management of the company in October 2016 and now continues it under his own management. Marquard & Bahls thanks him for his work and wishes him all the best for the future.
