It is estimated that more than 2,000 people in Hamburg currently live on the streets, which is a particular challenge in the winter months. To alleviate the plight of these people, Hamburger Tafel has launched an emergency winter program to make 850 beds available for the homeless in the cold season. They are also supplied with free hot stews prepared by catering companies and canteens from all over Hamburg. The Marquard & Bahls staff restaurant team initially participated in the campaign in 2015. In 2017, they once again brought out the hot pots, which went to help feed people at two homeless shelters in Hamburg.
